Watching ads during CNN’s SD election coverage on a widescreen TV reveals some totally insane letterboxing and pillarboxing, especially due to the persistent lower third:

    Dana,

I took one of your classes when “Hey Ya” by Outkast was a popular song on the radio. In it, there’s a line where Andre 3000 asks “What’s cooler than being cool?” to which a chorus replies, “Ice cold!”

In the halls after class, we’d often ask each other, “What’s blacker than being black?”

    The reply: “Sync Pulse!”

Now that’s TV geek humour from a guy working in radio.
